Serial Chicken, The first twitter novel in Europe.
For BCNegra, the Black Novel week from Barcelona.
The project starts with a special presentation for journalists where were written live the first micro-chapter of the black novel on twitter. Then, daily, would be written from 8 to 10 "140 carachters chapters" of a serial killer story in the streets of Barcelona.
The print campaign showed different victims and one usual suspect: a chicken. People were then invited to follow the novel in the microblogging channel: "Follow the track of the Serial Chicken at www.twitter.com/bcnegra"
We invited catalan writer Jordi Cervera to write the novel that lasted one month. It was all written in real time, and as a crime happened it was tagged in a google maps account with their original direction in Barcelona, so the audience could follow the route of the Serial Chicken in the streets
of Barcelona.
We had a massive coverage in tv and press, like EL PAÍS dedicating a full page, or TVE, ABC, LA VANGUARDIA. Also media from Mexico, USA, Argentina, etc. And huge buzz on the blogosphere, facebook and twitter with thousands of followers commenting and participating with insights that really changed the course of the novel.
The Serial Project was added as a content of the BCNegra programm, along editorials and writters, and gave exposure and interest to the Barcelona's black novel festival.
